Wire Harness for Port Injection

Wire Harness for Port Injection: Making the change for our ZC engine swap

By Brian Gillespie

Doing wiring is probably the thing people fear most, but it really isn’t that hard. If you think of wiring like plumbing and you are just adding some pipes so the electrons can flow to the correct place then it is a far less intimidating. By adding and removing the wires one at a time and you can avoid the “which-wire-goes-where?!?” anxiety most people feel when looking at an unwrapped wire harness.

Follow along with me as I explain what it being done and then head over to the VTEC Academy website for a diagram and written article on the procedure.

If you need some of the tools mentioned in the video there are links to buy them on our Amazon affiliate page. There you can find Brian’s favorite strippers, crimpers for terminals with Honda connector insulators, ECU pin crimpers, and the best tape for building harnesses. By the way, it looks like the Steelman has a master terminal tool kit with the correct tool for the ODB0 ECU connector. It’s $57 for the whole kit which is a lot better than $120 for the OE Honda Tool. I also understand Snap-On could get the proper tool at one time, so maybe they still can.
