K24 7th Gen Civic Subframe

Project Bruised Civic Part 3: Will the 7th Gen Subframe Work?

By Brian Gillespie

It’s time to install the engine and you now you have some decisions to make. What subframe to use? How does engine and transmission affect your options? We’re installing a K24A2 with a TSX transmission, but there are other choices too. K20A2 with RSX Type S trans the 2012 Civic Si transmission or even the AWD CRV trans. We have info on all the choices in this episode.

If you’re thinking of doing this swap, here are the correct mount kits for each engine and transmission combination:
K-series with RSX or 02-11 Civic Si transmission – Hasport ESK3 mount kit
K-series with 04-08 TSX or 03-07 Accord manual transmission – Hasport ESK4 mount kit
K-series with 09-13 TSX, 08-12 Accord, or 12-15 Civic Si manual transmission – Hasport ESK5 mount kit
K-series with CRV AWD transmission – Hasport ESKAWD mount kit
