FK8 Type R K20C1 into EG Civic: Test fitting Hasport’s new mount kit

By Brian Gillespie

If you’re a Honda performance fanatic you had to know Hasport was going to bolt the new turbo FK8 Type R engine into an older Civic. It was only a matter of time. Well, here are the mounts developed for bolting a K20C1 swap into a 92-95 Civic.

I take you through the first test fitting of the new swap mount kit. The huge K20C1 takes a bit of work to fit it into the engine bay, but it can be done. Just like Honda’s J-series engine it is too tall for the compact Civic’s engine bay, so there will be compromises.

If the 92-95 Civic isn’t your flavor of Honda (Why wouldn’t it be?!!?-AG), the mounts will also work on the 94-01 Integra (Oh, you fancy!-AG) and with modification on the 96-00 Civic. Hasport promises more mount kits will be coming for later model Civics as well as mount kits for the new Civic Si motor, the turbocharged L15B7.
