Y’all Don’t Read Anything Anymore: Motor Mouth is Going Vlog

By Aaron Gaghagen

Of course I’m not talking about YOU. I mean, look at you, all reading this right now. You’re a bad ass and you are rare. I’m talking about people in general. Actually, I’m talking more specifically about us, car enthusiasts. As car enthusiasts we are bombarded with content that is created with the direct intent on getting the most eyes or clicks or views or impressions or whatever that site uses to measure popularity. Let’s face it, it is a double edged sword. On one hand, we get great stuff that looks cool and tells us about the owner/builder/tuner/creator behind the project or teaches something that helps us on our own project and answers any questions we had about something. On the other hand, we also get a lot of really crappy insta-fame stuff, stolen videos and pictures masquerading as original, and TV shows that copy one successful idea and run it into the ground.

We at VTEC Academy have to operate in this world. Originally our editorialisms were going to be solely written posts like this. Our site was going to have advertisers to help pay for hosting fees, project costs and travel and equipment expenses. Eventually if we had enough advertisers, we would be able to work on videos and articles part-time. Look at this site, you will not find an advertiser anywhere. As it turns out, companies were not ready to support a site that was starting from scratch. I can’t blame them since this industry is full of people that make big promises and fail to deliver. But, we aren’t just anybody. This is what we do. We’re all about Honda Performance. We don’t just do this for the Gram. So, we will forge our own way and that way is through video.

The Motor Mouth vlog will be quite different from Brian’s Inside Line and Bonk’s Road Rage (If we can get him to dust off his VTEC files!). Of the VTEC Academy editors, I am the least industry. My main job isn’t car related. If you saw our Instagram Live video a month or so back, then you already know that I am a video editor for a local television station in San Diego. So, I don’t have that same kind of access to parts and people. Which sucks for me because I can’t just whip out projects at the same rate, but it helps keep the enthusiast perspective that a lot of us have.

So, check it out, I was lucky enough drive the all new Acura NSX. Yeah, yeah, I know all the “important” video reviewers drove it a year ago and they didn’t have to shell out their own money to do it either, but I am a HUGE fan of the old NSX. When I learned that the new NSX was at Exotics Racing in Las Vegas my brain started churning, trying to figure out how make it happen. Luckily for me, my wife is a woman of action and she was way ahead of me in planning to get me to the track. Like I said, I am like most average enthusiasts and THIS was a very special treat. And, yeah, my driving style sucks compared to all of you bad ass internet racers. Oh well, I loved it!

We’d Love Your Support

Like us? Help Support VTEC Academy by hitting up our store for gear at https://vtec.academy/shop/ or help us by sharing (it’s free!) this post or others with other cool Honda people.

Nothing but Hondas. That’s exactly what you’ll find at VTEC Academy. Not because some of the other automakers’ cars that inherently drain the life out of the driving experience bore us, but because Soichiro Honda’s passion for motorsports and his company’s ability to express that in the machines they produce make a whole lot of sense.

VTEC Academy is a place for Honda fans who feel the same way and who seek the most accurate technical information and commentary to continue that very legacy and make whatever Honda it is that they drive just a little bit better. And faster.

The editors and contributors of VTEC Academy are some of the industry’s most experienced and trusted, which means the informative, unique perspectives you need are all right here. And, like you, we’re also obsessed with Hondas.

So, subscribe to our channel and hit us up at vtecacademy.com or, if you’re into social media, you can get your daily dose of VTEC Academy on InstagramFacebook and Twitter. We’re always on the look out for cool and fast Hondas.
