By Brian Gillespie

You’ve got you K-series engine with 6 speed transmission ready to swap into your Civic with one little exception, no Type S engine harness. They say used ones go for $100-250, but they are nowhere to be found. You can buy it new from Acura for $550 to $800. You can buy a Mil-spec harness for $650 to $900. Crap! What do you do? Well once again, VTEC Academy to the rescue once again with a budget solution. You know how we roll! With these simple steps you can easily convert a base model RSX harness to work with your 6 speed transmission.

Oh, crap again! You don’t have a Type S ECU? Not to worry. Look for another quick tip coming soon on how to operate your reverse lockout without a Type S ECU. We got this, and now you will too.
