The Ultimate Street Car S2000: Optima Batteries’ search for the best
By Aaron Gaghagen and Brian Gillespie
The ultimate street car S2000 is a bold claim, but when you have had the success that John Laughlin has had behind the wheel of Honda’s legendary roadster it is justified. John is competing in the Optima Batteries Ultimate Street Car Challenge and his race wins earned him the opportunity to drive at this years Ultimate Street Car Challenge Invitational which had a portion of it’s competition at the 2021 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
We actually met John in 2019 during SEMA over an awesome all-you-can-eat sushi dinner with mutual friends. OMG. So. Much. Sushi. He was campaigning a Tesla at the time, so we were psyched to see that he switched it up for the new season with the S2000. Since it is a Honda, you know that we had to get the lowdown!
