First Running L15B7 Swap

First Running L15B7 Swap: Welcome to the future of Honda engine swaps.

By Brian Gillespie

Here it is, the first L15B7 swapped car running in the wild. It’s running and driving and soon ready to go to the track. Thanks to KTuner for modify the ECU, FastBrakes for donating the Fit for development and Hasport for making the mounts. With the L15 VTEC Turbo engine this Fit is Type R fast. Having a running driving L15 turbo engine in our Fit opens up the the doors to start developing the L15B7 swap for many of the Honda chassis.

This turbo engine is being made in huge quantities. In the US, it comes in the Civic, CRV, and Accord. These models sell in the 100s of thousands each year. In the Accord and Civic the 1.5T has been tuned making HP and torque numbers well above the J-series engine’s output. The L15 swap may not be as popular as the B or K swap anytime soon, but these engine are already piling up in the salvage yards. It’s only a matter of time.
