Falken Tire Super Saloon Shootout: Daily Driver Track Battle!

By Aaron Gaghagen

Project cars are awesome to work on and race, but sometimes they really can’t hack it as everyday cars anymore. Either they are too uncomfortable, impractical, illegal or thief attractive to use in normal street driving. That’s where the daily driver comes in to save the day. But, we are VTEC Academy and our daily driver cars have to be Hondas, modified Hondas to be exact. Just because a car is your daily driver doesn’t mean that it can’t be fun or (gulp!) stock. Brian, Carter and Aaron think they have the best formula for a great daily driver Honda. So, welcome to the Falken Tire Super Saloon Shootout!

In part one we learn about Brian’s K24A2 swapped ES2 Civic, Carter’s K24A2 swapped 2007 Accord and Aaron’s 2007 FA5 Civic before taking them on track to see how they perform in the hands of U Wrench’s Brandon Welch, a very capable track driver. This takes the driver element out of the equation when comparing lap times. But, the guys aren’t off the hook for driving, because they will also hit the track in their cars to see who is the quickest. Each of the cars are equipped with Falken Tire’s very sticky RT615K+ tires to get the most performance out of our street cars and to level the playing field.
