The Worst S2000 Ever: Rywire’s EV S2000

By Aaron Gaghagen

If fortune favors the bold, then Ryan Basseri from Rywire should be expecting a huge payoff. He did something that nobody in their right mind would do; he yanked out the glorious-sounding F series VTEC screamer and replaced it with an-all electric drivetrain. How could he? Well, he wanted to learn how to build an EV from a traditional platform. And, why not do it with a car that doesn’t suck? Ryan loves the S2000 and he has more than one, so why not?

The online world, ready to embrace change and innovation, has of course fallen in love with this EV S2000. Sorry, we meant the exact opposite. The kind people of the internet have ripped this project as if Ryan did the conversion to their own personal car. He has taken all of the criticism in stride, knowing that not everyone will get it right away — if ever.
