Eibach CRZ K24 Swap Part 1: Project Car Acquired

By Aaron Gaghagen, Brian Gillespie and Shaun Mockoski

The Honda CRZ was slept on. When it debuted people for the most part were confused. Enthusiasts were told that it was the spiritual successor to the much loved CRX, but it wasn’t the lightweight, high revving car that the CRX was and it didn’t pack the power to match the new heft. The general public couldn’t square away the sporty good looks with the fuel-sipping hybrid technology. Back then hybrids had to look like goofy hybrids so people could immediately see that you were different. The mindset was kind of self-congratulatory. Luckily for us Honda didn’t really follow that trend.

That brings us to our project CRZ, a project that we started way back in 2011. Originally the car was owned by the suspension tuning company Eibach. When we picked it up Brian had big plans to totally transform the performance to match the great looking exterior.
