Building a Civic for the Nurburgring

Talking Civic Race Cars with Misha Charoudin
By Aaron Gaghagen and Brian Gillespie

Recently front wheel drive cars have taken a hit from the racing world in the form of Red Bull Racing’s F1 champion, Max Verstappen. In a video with Chris Harris on the Ford Performance YouTube channel the Dutch pilot mentions how front wheel drive “is really boring” and that it is “anti-driving.” But fear not our fellow wrong wheel drive fans, because there’s another amazing driver that begs to differ. That driver is Misha Charoudin, the Nurburgring legend.

We did not ask Misha to address what Max said. But, we did talk about building cars for the track and he explains why he is building two front wheel drive Honda Civics. If anyone truly understands vehicle dynamics, it is Misha. He’s driven thousands of laps on the Nordschlife and race tracks world wide behind the wheel of hopped up kei cars to race cars to exotics and supercars.

As a bonus Brian gets to ride along on a track day with Misha on the world famous Green Hell.
