Broken Clutch Pedal?!?! FA5 DADMOBILE Finally Gets Shifting Problem Solved
By Aaron Gaghagen
In our last update on the VTEC Academy Instagram stories Project Dadmobile got a brand spanking new Honda OEM clutch installed and we thought we had solved the problem of not being able to get the 6-speed into gear. Well, it turns out we were not finished with our clutch issues. You see, the fried Exedy OEM replacement clutch turned out to be a symptom of another problem. Just a month or so after putting in the new clutch the problem of getting into gear had returned.
Determined to get out ahead of the problem Aaron prepared to change out the clutch master cylinder. Then after seeing how far back the clutch master cylinder was tucked away he began to wonder if maybe it was the slave cylinder and he texted Brian. Brian had a hunch that it was neither as he had seen a similar issue with Carter’s Accord and an EP3 (Willie’s EP3 actually! He helps shoot and edit a lot of our videos.). He suspected it was the clutch pedal itself that had the problem and he was dead on! Shoutout to Sportcar Motion for coming through with the fix.
